The Western Regional Fisheries Board is currently carrying out a public consultation on improving conservation measures for wild brown trout in the Great Western Loughs of Corrib, Mask and Carra, and all tributaries. Following the receipt of written submissions, the board is now holding 2 public meetings as follows:
Friday 13 July at 7.30 p.m. in the Corrib Heights Hotel, Dublin Road, Galway (formerly the Corrib Great Southern)
Saturday 14 July at 7.30 p.m. in Clonbur GAA Club, Clonbur
There will be presentations from scientists employed by the Central Fisheries Board on the current status of wild trout in the western lakes. Information will be provided on the submissions received to date and possible conservation measures. There will then follow a question-and-answer session at which members of the public can express their views.
All anglers and interested members of the public are invited to attend.
