The Western Regional Fisheries Board has produced many excellent angling maps and guides of the region to help the visiting and local angler, the expert or the beginner, to find and enjoy the splendid angling available.


Some of these publications include:

"An Anglers Guide to Game Fishing in the Western Fisheries Region."

From this week, July 23, 2003, there is a new, comprehensive and detailed guide to all the game fisheries in the Western Fisheries Region of Ireland. This 108-page production is the best and most comprehensive guide available, containing a mammoth amount of information on all trout and salmon fisheries, seasons, bye-laws, up-to-date fishing regulations and lots of hints on the best waters to fish at the various times of the season. The price from the Board's office is 10 Euro plus P&P. It can also be purchased from Ireland West Tourism, most fishing tackle shops and from some hotels and guesthouses who cater for anglers.

"Western Lakes Wild Brown Trout Fishing"

This publication covers game fishing on Loughs Corrib, Mask and Carra.
Produced by Bord Failte and The Western Regional Fisheries Board, it is free.

 

"Sea Angling Guide"

A guide to the best sea angling along the coast of Galway, Mayo and Clare including contact names of all the deep sea boat operators. It's got a huge amount of information along with maps for each shore area as well as fishing marks along the coast from Westport to Doolin, Co. Clare. Price 2.50 Euro.

 

"A Detailed Angling Map & Guide to Game Fishing On Lough Corrib"

Angling Guide and Map of Lough Corrib, It is a new publication and is now available. Price 5.00 Euro. The map shows all the best drifts for trout and salmon fishing on the lough and has much information for the local and visiting angler.

 

"Angling Guide and Map of Lough Mask"

(Practically sold out, 28/7/2003.)

For the trout angler going to Lough Mask, this angling guide and map is most useful as it shows the best trout drifts and it has many hints about what fishing can be like at the different times of the season. Price: 5.00 Euro.

"Angling Guide and Map of Lough Carra"

(Out of print at the moment, 28/7/03.)

This publication is out of print and hopefully will be replaced soon.

"Game Fishing Ireland West"

Produced in association The Western Regional Fisheries Board, North Western Regional Fisheries Board, Shannon Regional Fisheries Board, Bord Failte, Ireland West Tourism and Game Fishing Ireland West, it lists the various hotels and guesthouses - and others - who provide accommodation and angling services in the Western, North Western and part of the Shannon Fisheries Board area. It has a list of all the fishing tackle shops in the areas covered. It is free.

 

"Coarse Angling Ireland West"

Produced in association with Bord Failte, Ireland West Tourism and the above three Fisheries Boards, it has lots of information on coarse angling and maps of each area. It also has a list of the fishing tackle shops over the area covered. Free.

All of the above guides and maps and many other leaflets and brochures relating to all aspects of fisheries and angling are available from our head office and at Angling centres and Tackle shops throughout the Western Fisheries Region.

All proceeds raised from the sale of these guides goes back into the development, protection and conservation of the various fisheries in the Western Region.
